The Buddy Weill Legacy and Eldercare in Our Community

Charles L. “Buddy” Weill, Jr., a member of the Rotary Club of Greensboro for 50 years (from 1961 until his death in 2021) provided a lasting gift to our community.  Buddy left his entire estate, $50 million, to establish an endowment to support capital expansions and improvements of facilities that support eldercare and health care. The endowment is housed at the Community Foundation of Greater Greensboro (CFGG).

Walker Sanders, president of CFGG and a Greensboro Rotarian himself, will provide an update on the fund, the vision Buddy had in creating it, and why he choose to CFGG to manage it.

Steve Fleming, CEO of The Well-Spring Group, will join Walker to address the eldercare issues in the community in which the Buddy Weill Fund will address.  In addition, one of the Weill Fund grantees will provides examples of the types of projects that will be supported.
