John Krege, Orthopedic Surgeon (retired)

Worldwide Polio and India’s Efforts to Rid Their County of It”

John is a retired Greensboro orthopedic surgeon who has been a Rotary member since 1997. He has participated in food drives, Meals on Wheels, and Habitat for Humanity.  This will be his 20th year participating in grade school tutoring.

Through his church in Greensboro, he has been to Kenya, Africa, on five mission trips.  His church helped establish a preschool, participated in medical clinics, and, of particular interest to John, assisted with water, sanitation, and hygiene issues.

When Rotary announced that they were forming a visiting National Immunization Day team for India, Ron Wilson and John signed on. John will share what they have learned about worldwide polio and India’s efforts to rid their country of it.
