The Learning Center at PARI: Preparing the Next Generation of Science Leaders
In 1963 NASA built a facility in the middle of the Pisgah National forest to communicate with astronauts as they traveled to the moon. After the end of the Apollo program and a short stint as a Department of Defense listening post, Greensboro residents Don and Jo Cline worked with the federal government in 1998 to repurpose the facility and its 200 acres as a science education and research center. John Holloway serves as the Executive Director of the Learning Center at PARI. Under his leadership, the Learning Center at PARI now offers educational programs and summer camps to middle, high school and college students focused on developing the next generation of science leaders. John has a Masters Degree in Organizational Leadership from Gonzaga University.
