Changes in the Health Care Industry
Ryan oversees Cone Health’s relationships and advocacy with local, state, and federal governments, as well as relationships and engagement with external entities such as chambers of commerce. He first joined Cone Health in 2015 as the Director of Government Affairs and was in charge of Cone Health’s government advocacy. Prior to working at Cone Health, Ryan was a staff attorney at the North Carolina General Assembly for seven years, where he wrote tax, transportation, corporate, and health care laws.
He holds a J.D. and M.B.A. from Tulane University and a B.A. in Foreign Affairs from the University of Virginia. He is licensed to practice law in both North Carolina and his home state of Louisiana.
Ryan chairs the government affairs committee for the Greensboro Chamber of Commerce; chairs the legislative action subcommittee for and serves on the board of Ready for School, Ready for Life; serves as the Secretary for the political action committee for North Carolina’s hospitals and health systems (NC HOSPAC); and serves as vice chair for Premier’s government affairs policy committee.
