Rebuilding Homes and Restoring Hope

Gene Brown is the President & Executive Director of Community Housing Solutions which is a nonprofit organization that repairs homes for low-income homeowners who can’t physically or financially afford these services themselves.  Community Housing Solutions leverages donations from the community and their staff leads volunteer groups to complete the repair projects restoring hope and dignity for families in need in Guilford County.

Prior to joining Community Housing Solutions, Gene enjoyed a 22-year career in the group health insurance industry working with UnitedHealthCare, PHP and The Travelers.

Gene is active in the community through the Greensboro Airport Rotary Club, past board member for WRLP, Inc. and the Greensboro Children’s Museum, past member of the Greensboro Jaycees and a graduate of Leadership North Carolina.

Gene has been married to his wife Lisa for 29 years and they have 4 wonderful grown children.  They moved into the Glenwood neighborhood 12 years ago and live in a 95-year old house.
