Mg Materials Innovation – Bio Implants to Light Weighting for Greensboro’s Industrial Revolution
Professor Jag Sankar is recognized as a national leader for transformational materials engineering innovation aimed towards economic impact and global leadership of the nation. As the Director of various research centers supported through the NSF (including ERC- Gen 3, considered as the crown jewel), Army, Navy, DoE etc., Dr. Sankar has generated greater than $60 million of competitive research funding for NC A&T, including $14 Million for equipment infrastructure under one umbrella encompassing over 25,000 sq.ft of innovation ecosystem space.
He has organized and sponsored more than 25 international conferences/symposia, has authored more than 400 peer-reviewed articles, book chapters, and scientific papers and has delivered more than 35 Plenary/Keynote addresses in major international scientific gatherings and conferences.
The talk will specifically provide a scientific update on the various innovations, translation and trailblazing pathways for developing the biodegradable implants to light weighting applications through holistic University- Industry- Global partnerships for economic ecosystem and commercialization – Greensboro’s next industrial impact and growth.
