Classical Innovation in the Digital Era

The Greensboro Symphony is innovating its way to the front of the orchestral field, premiering revolutionary performance concepts, broadening audiences, engaging younger generations by droves, and winning national awards for its impactful community engagement & music education programs. Within the last year, the GSO’s efforts have been covered in major national publications & media outlets, such as The Huffington Post, WQXR New York, Playbill, Global Travel Magazine, The Violin Channel, and Forbes. The GSO has received regular awards from the National Endowment for the Arts, and most recently, was one of five national winners of the League of American Orchestra’s prestigious 2017 Ford Musician Award for Excellence in Community Engagement.

Daniel Crupi is the Chief Operating Officer of the Greensboro Symphony, as well as a Board Member and 2017-2018 Youth Services Chair for the Rotary Club of Greensboro. Daniel has worked with the Greensboro Symphony since 2013, and as COO, is responsible for the oversight of all fundraising, community engagement, and artistic operations.

In addition to his role with Rotary, Daniel serves on the Board of the Triad Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, plays an active role in the Notre Dame Club of Central North Carolina, and serves as a Music Minister at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church. He is a graduate of UNCG and the University of Notre Dame, and is passionate about discovering new ways to interest people, in particular younger generations, in the classical arts.
