Update: Greensboro Police Department
Chief Scott began his police career in 1991 and over time he rose through the ranks. He has been the Police Chief of the City of Greensboro for over 4 years from March 2015 to present.
Among his many accomplishments are equipping all uniform police officers with on-body video camera systems. He has developed and implemented Neighborhood Oriented Policing (NOP), a plan that transformed the agency into a national model for exceptional policing, emphasizing community partnerships and problem-solving. Above all he has placed a greater focus on recruiting and retaining qualified employees with an emphasis on diversity.
Chief Scott is a member of numerous police organizations and gives back to our community with additional active service through: Board of Directors Smiles for Life, Board of Directors Salvation Army, Board Member Special Olympics of North Carolina, Masonry, Gate City Masonic Lodge as well as our Rotary Club of Greensboro.
