“More in the Core” – Economic Development Momentum in the Carolina Core
The Carolina Core is the brand for a region in central North Carolina that is experiencing amazing growth. Working together regionally has proven to generate great benefits. Loren will share some of that and what is ahead.
Loren Hill has worked for more than 26 years in economic development in central North Carolina. For the last three years, he has been Carolina Core Regional Economic Development Director for the Piedmont Triad Partnership. He works with 19 counties and parts of adjacent counties. He is known informally as the “Carolina Core brand ambassador.”
Prior to his current role, Loren served for 20 years as President of the High Point Economic Development Corporation and before that was Vice President of Public Affairs and Communications for the Greensboro Chamber of Commerce and its economic development department. Before his economic development career he was governmental affairs director for five real estate trade associations in the Piedmont Triad. He was also a Marriott hotel general manager in Greensboro and in the states of Virginia, Arizona, California, and New York. Loren served two terms as a Town of Jamestown councilman in the 1990’s.
