A Life of Service and Perfect Attendance – Tom Cochran Honored
by Jason Peloquin, Contributor
At our Wednesday meeting on May 30, 2018, we were able to witness and be part of an incredible milestone. Rotarian Tom Cochran was recognized for his perfect attendance record.
What makes this even more amazing was the fact that his attendance record spans 68 years. 68 YEARS!!! For 68 years, Tom never missed a meeting. In recognition of his unwavering support and service to the club, President Lori Haddock, assisted by Club Attendance Coordinator Judy Peters, granted Tom with Lifetime Perfect Attendance. He has earned the ability to be counted present for every club meeting whether he is there in person or in thought. In addition, the club’s perfect attendance recognition has been named the “Tom Cochran Perfect Attendance Award” in honor of what is believed to be a world record for attendance at a Rotary Club. Henceforth, all members of the Rotary Club of Greensboro who have perfect attendance for the year will be recognized with this newly named award.
Two of Tom’s daughters, Sally Cochran Wilson and Joanie Cochran Leggette were able to join him for this recognition.
