Guilford County Learn to Swim Program

David Hoover, Manager, Greensboro Aquatic Center. David joined the GAC team in the 2012 after receiving a Sport and Facility Management degree from Niagara University. He has served as Event Coordinator and Event Manager before being promoted to Facility Manager in January 2022. He has worked on over 600 events and has a passion working with the GAC members to achieve their swimming and fitness goals. His favorite part of the job is watching an event or program come together and seeing the smiling faces of the 2nd graders, club swimmers, or even Olympians as they reach their goals! David has numerous Aquatic certifications and is a member of the Greensboro Sports Council. Originally from Elyria, Ohio, David resides in Greensboro with his wife and two daughters.

Rachel Krause, Guilford County 2nd Grade Learn to Swim Coordinator. Her main responsibilities include scheduling Guilford County public schools a 5-day field trip to one of the many pool sites to participate in our swim lesson program. She has a passion for teaching children to be safe and confident around water. Her goal is to teach every public school 2nd grader in the county life-saving swim skills. She has been involved in the sport of swimming since she was a child and has been teaching swim lessons for over 12 years.
