Future of the Newspaper
Dimon Kendrick-Holmes became the North Carolina Editor for Lee Enterprises in October 2022. In this role, he serves as Executive Editor of both the Greensboro News & Record and the Winston-Salem Journal and oversees operations at six community newspapers west of the Triad, including Hickory and Statesville. Raised in rural Alabama, Dimon attended Vanderbilt University on an ROTC scholarship and spent four years as an Army intelligence officer in Germany. He has been an editor for about 25 years, working at daily newspapers in Tennessee, Georgia and Alabama. Before moving to the Triad, he was editor of the Opelika-Auburn News. Dimon and his wife, Bess, live in Greensboro. They have four grown children: a daughter who teaches first grade in Connecticut, and three sons, a civil engineer in Charlotte, an insurance underwriter in Atlanta, and a senior at the University of Georgia.
