Futures in the Making: The GAP Youth Apprenticeship Partnership
Ann Flynt has led Guilford Apprenticeship Partners (GAP) for the past seven years. Before she began her career in workforce, she worked as an educator for over 25 years, teaching elementary school at Greensboro Day School and as the school principal and vice-principal at St. Pius X Catholic in Greensboro, NC.
Ann, who is originally from Wyckoff, New Jersey, came to North Carolina to attend Wake Forest University to study business and met her husband, Chip. Instead of going home after graduation, she and Chip married and after a few years ended up in Greensboro. She went on to study education at Greensboro College and later received her master’s degree from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in Educational Leadership. She has two beautiful children who are now adulting in Asheboro, NC, and Covington, Kentucky. Chip, her husband, is a teacher at Southwest Guilford High School who teaches 3-D Modeling, Animation, and Game Design. In her free time Ann enjoys gardening, cycling, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.
