Ned Cline is a highly respected North Carolina journalist with a distinguished career spanning several decades. He served as a reporter for papers including The Concord Tribune, The Salisbury Post, The Greensboro Daily News, and The Charlotte Observer—often covering civil rights, politics, and public policy—before rising to managing editor at the Greensboro News & Record, where he worked until his retirement.

A Nieman Fellow at Harvard and recipient of numerous North Carolina Press Association awards, Ned has also authored biographies of notable state philanthropists and local historical works since his retiring.
