Club Members “Serve It Up!”

Taking a break from Zoom, club members gathered in the parking lot of Carruthers and Roth to Serve It Up! — a combination service activity and ice cream social on Wednesday, September 23. The service was in support of A Simple Gesture.  It included a food drive where more than 500 items were collected, plus $600 in cash. In addition, 22 people signed up for A Simple Gesture’s bag program, an amazingly easy way to help our community with food donations. Volunteers fill their green bags with food and it is picked up at your home. To learn more about this program and to sign up, visit this webpage.

And, ice cream!!! The Ice Queen ice cream truck served up some delicious scoops and ice cream sammiches — ice cream between to cookies. Yum!

Amidst  the socializing, President Ford Bowers, Past President Sam Funchess, and Membership Chair TA Smith were able to squeeze in an Orientation for some of our new members:  Charles Gray, Matt McNees, Alice Herman, and Marcus Thomas; and returning member Keith Holliday.
