Donald Moore is in his 18th Season as President and General Manager of the Greensboro Grasshoppers

Donald Moore is in his 18th season as President and General Manager of the Greensboro Grasshoppers.

Under his leadership, the team has become one of the most successful franchises in minor league baseball. He and his staff have won numerous awards since the team relocated to First National Bank Field in 2005, including six General Manager of the Year Awards, and six South Atlantic League Club Merit Awards. In 2008, Baseball America recognized the Grasshoppers as the Most Outstanding Single-A Organization in the country.

Moore has received several civic awards, including Father of the Year and Unsung Community Hero Award. In addition he was inducted into the Guilford County Sports Hall of Fame in 2010 and the South Atlantic League Hall of Fame in 2018.

Moore is a graduate of Page High School, where he played four sports, and NC State University.

In addition, he chaired the Pizza Hut Invitational for five years and helped grow it into the largest, most successful high school basketball tournament in North Carolina.

He also was a founding member of the North Carolina Association of Professional Baseball Teams and currently serves as President of that organization.

Moore currently sits on several local boards including the First National Bank Advisory Board, The First Tee of the Triad, The Greensboro Sports Foundation, the Guilford Merchants Association, and the Bryan Park Commission and is a past President of the Greensboro Sports Council. He also coached local youth sports teams for over twenty years, and his 1999 14-U Greensboro Warriors were the National Invitational Basketball Champions.

Donald and his wife Kim have two grown children, Allison and Donald, Jr., and one black Labrador retriever, Little Jackie Robinson.
