Ann Stringfield, Green Hill Cemetery
Welcome to Greensboro’s Oldest Active Cemetery: Green Hill
Ann Stringfield is a founding member of Friends of Green Hill Cemetery, formed in 2009 to enhance and promote respectful respite within Greensboro’s oldest, active, public cemetery.
Ann lives near Green Hill in Greensboro’s historic Fisher Park neighborhood. She became interested when a Mr. Bill Craft offered Green Hill Cemetery tours. After attending 3 tours, she asked Bill how she might help and was told “You’re giving the next tour!”
She leads walking tours and “virtual tours” of Green Hill Cemetery, having created the tour booklet, tri-fold flyer, website, and Facebook site.
Originally a “mountaineer” from Waynesville, NC, Ann earned a Masters in Library Science from UNC-Chapel Hill. Her business — InfoCrofters — helps libraries, archives, and museums organize their collections into online databases.
In free time, Ann actively serves on the Fisher Park Neighborhood Board, volunteers with a monthly Feral Cat Spay/Neuter Clinic, and invites you to wander throughout Green Hill Cemetery.
