Mark Brandon (October 15)

October 15, 2025 @ 12:30 pm - 1:30 pm

Mark Brandon, Rotary District 7690 Governor

Mark is a passionate Rotarian who believes the heart of Rotary lies in its clubs. Inspired by the people within this great organization, he is dedicated to assisting club presidents and strengthening Rotary’s impact in communities.

Born and raised in Yadkinville, NC, Mark studied business at Surry Community College and Gardner-Webb University. He obtained his insurance license in 1997 and began his career as a salesperson at Ireland Insurance Agency in Yadkinville. In 2007, he became the majority owner of the agency and has successfully led the business ever since. Mark and Brandy Phillips have been married for 26 years, and together they have built a beautiful family. They have three children: Madilyn (Maddy), Olivia (Liv), and Samuel.
Mark and Brandy have called Winston-Salem home since 1998.

At just 25, Mark joined Rotary for networking but quickly discovered a deep passion for service and fellowship. Over the past 25 years, he has experienced many unforgettable “Rotary Moments,” but one stands out the most: when his club in Yadkin County rallied around his family after their 8-year-old daughter Liv was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes in 2011. His club actively participated in the annual JDRF Walk for a Cure, helping his family’s team raise over $100,000 in the past 11 years to support diabetes research.
Mark and Brandy’s dedication to service led to them being named JDRF Volunteers of the Year in 2017. That same year, Ireland Insurance was recognized as the Erie Insurance Giving Network Agency of the Year for its commitment to community giving.

Mark’s Rotary Career has included many positions and achievements. Here are just a few: Major Donor, Paul Harris Society Member, Former Assistant Governor, and a two-time club president (2003-2004, 2020-2021)

Beyond Rotary and his business, Mark enjoys writing and playing music, hitting the golf course, and indulging in his lifelong passion for snow skiing. He and Brandy also share a love for traveling and exploring new places.
