Service as a Guilford County School Board Member: A Behind the Scenes View

Bill Goebel has over 25 years of experience in domestic and international marketing and promotions. Currently, he is the owner and president of MPACT Solutions, LLC, a nationally recognized industrial maintenance training company that he reinvented and expanded beginning in 2009.

Early in his career, Bill had the privilege to launch Vaseline Lip Therapy for Unilever. Under his leadership, this product became the #1 selling item in the United States, earning him a nomination for the prestigious Etsy Award for Best Creation. Bill also garnered the “Promotion of the Year” Award by Advertising Age. For three years, Bill served as a Senior Vice President of Mars Advertising. He was responsible for business development and secured many noteworthy accounts, including Sara Lee Corp, Nestlé USA and Pfizer Inc.

During the height of the coronavirus pandemic, Bill had the opportunity to expand his consultation portfolio and join Focus CFO, as area president. This company provides much-needed services to small and mid-sized companies across North Carolina. One client, Homeland Creamery, has expanded its operations by 40% in less than two years with Bill’s guidance.

Today, Bill spends much of his time serving and volunteering. He is very involved with the Boy Scouts of America and is an active board member with Prevent Child Abuse North Carolina and was most recently elected to the Guilford County School Board. He also co-hosts North Carolina’s fastest-growing podcast, TheCommonGround.show with Bill & Odell. Bill devotes time and energy to traveling across North Carolina, advocating to help minimize Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) with the 501(c)(3) he founded, Youth of North Carolina. In 2022, Bill become a Youth Development Advisor to the state Chief Justice Paul Newby’s Task Force on ACEs-Informed Courts.

Most importantly, Bill is a family man and a proud father of three grown children. Bill grew up in Ohio, but he and his wife, Dori, call Greensboro, North Carolina home. Together, they work tirelessly to network and collaborate for positive changes in their community and across North Carolina.
