Jim Vechery, Director of Airlift Operations for Samaritan’s Purse

On a Wing and a Prayer

James “Vech” Vechery is a native of Maryland. A career U.S. Air Force pilot, “Vech” flew the Mammoth C5 B, a six-story tall cargo transport airplane, and he knows logistics. Vech has answered a call to Samaritan Purse to supervise the ministries Piedmont Triad International Airport operations. Samaritan Purse is based at Piedmont Triad International Airport and has flown over 200 international relief efforts to serve others around the world. Vech and his wife have been married for 36 years and have three adult children.
