Supporting the Artists of Tomorrow — Today

After 20 years serving as the Founding Managing Director for Triad Stage, the professional theatre company in downtown Greensboro, Rich Whittington shifted his focus in 2019 from supporting the artists of today to supporting the artists of tomorrow by joining the Advancement team of UNC School of the Arts where he serves as Associate Vice Chancellor for Advancement.  In his new role, Rich develops and implements fundraising strategies, engages with major donors and prospects and manages a team of major gift officers as well as specialists in annual giving, alumni relations, special events, communications, donor relations and other areas of philanthropy.  During his time at UNCSA, he shepherded the successful completion of a $75.3 million comprehensive campaign, re-built 60% of the advancement team and served as Interim Vice Chancellor for Advancement for eight of his 15-months on the job.
