Trey Davis, City Manager for the City of Greensboro
Nathaniel “Trey” Davis assumed the role of Greensboro City Manager on October 4, 2024. Mr. Davis’ public service career dates back to 1996, as a police officer in Creedmoor, NC. He subsequently joined the Greensboro Police Department in 2002 as a patrol officer. Throughout his tenure, Davis served in progressive leadership roles, including Commander of the Office of Community Engagement and the Criminal Investigations Division. He also served as the Commander of Professional Standards, where he was responsible for ensuring the department adhered to ethical standards. Davis was appointed to serve as Assistant City Manager of Public Safety, in 2019. In this capacity he was responsible for public safety policies and initiatives. Trey’s leaderships, commitment, and dedication to public service are evident in all he does. He earned his bachelors and masters degrees from Liberty University. He is a 2016 graduate of Leadership Greensboro and a 2021 graduate of the Public Executive Leadership Academy for the UNC School of Government.
