NC Folk Fest – Welcoming the World to Greensboro
Amy Grossmann is President & CEO and artistic director of the North Carolina Folk Festival – a three-day celebration of folk and traditional arts that has been held annually in the city of Greensboro, NC since 2015.
Amy’s career in the non-profit arts sector as an event producer, grants administrator, and festival director, has focused on building and growing programs that celebrate diverse expressions of culture from across the world. Prior to arriving in Greensboro, Amy held roles with major cultural institutions across the country including ArtsGreensboro in North Carolina, the Maryland State Arts Council in Baltimore, the National Council for the Traditional Arts in Maryland, the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, DC, and the Oshman Family Jewish Community Center in Palo Alto, CA.
Amy holds a bachelor’s degree from the State University of New York at Geneseo in Music History & Literature, and a master’s degree from American University in Arts Management; she is currently pursuing a master’s degree from UNC-Chapel Hill in Folklore.
