The future of the award-winning Greensboro parks will be shared in the next Greensboro Rotary meeting. Park and Recreation staffers who handle planning and outreach will be our guests.

Shawna Tillery currently serves as the Projects Division Manager for the City of Greensboro in the Engineering & Inspections Department. In this role, she manages the city wide efforts in all aspect of city funded construction and renovation to building facilities, real estate and planning functions for greenway infrastructure development. Shawna was previously served as the Planning and Development Manager for the Greensboro Parks and Recreation Department from 2016 through 2024.

Shawna completed her undergraduate degree at the University of NC at Wilmington majoring in Political Science with minors in Spanish and International Affairs and holds a Master’s in Public Affairs from the University of NC at Greensboro. Shawna also holds a NC Real Estate License and a certificate in Project Management from UNCW. She has completed Leadership Greensboro and UNC Chapel Municipal and County Administration. Shawna has been active in the Greensboro community for more than 18 years and has held various board roles with the Junior League of Greensboro, Salvation Army, Hamilton Lakes Pool & Tennis Club, and Our Children’s House.

Jennifer Hance is the Community Engagement Coordinator with Greensboro Parks and Recreation. She oversees engagement, marketing, and volunteers for the department. Prior to her role as community engagement coordinator she was the Director of the Music Center with City Arts. Jennifer earned her Bachelors in music education and performance and her Master’s in Public Affairs from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
