Angel Flight Team Flies Cancer Patient Home

Contributed by Warren Ludlam

The Greensboro Rotary Club’s Angel Flight team continues working to help those in need with its free air transportation for special medical appointments. Our pilots volunteer to fly cancer and tumor patients, organ transplant donors and recipients, burn survivor children, reconstructive surgery patients, kidney patients, and others dealing with chronic health issues at no charge.

Recently, James Ray, one of our team’s new pilots and a senior captain with American Airlines, flew a cancer patient from an Atlanta treatment center to rendezvous with a second Angel Flight plane in southwest Tennessee which carried her home to Missouri. She is very grateful to Angel Flight and the Greensboro Rotary Club for our assistance.

Our Greensboro Rotary Angel Flight team’s fuel is funded by the Greensboro Rotary Club Foundation, enabling us to fly volunteer Angel Flight missions. The flights benefit chronically-ill children, adults, and military veterans by providing free air transportation to and from their special medical treatments and for reasons of compassion. Our team’s pilots donate their time and aircraft to assist those in need on an unlimited basis. Club members are encouraged to direct referrals for special transportation assistance to team manager Warren Ludlam at airlift.nc@gmail.com.
